When it comes to the menu, Black Hills does not disappoint. From pasta to meats and everything in between, every dish is prepared with fresh, local ingredients. One of the standout options is the house-made pasta, which perfectly captures the essence of Italy’s rich culinary traditions. It’s not just the main courses that shine - the appetizers and desserts are also worth mentioning. The antipasti platter, featuring a variety of cured meats, cheeses, and fresh vegetables, is a great way to start the meal. If you have a sweet tooth, the tiramisu here is divine, offering the perfect balance of sweetness and creaminess.

One thing that sets Black Hills apart is its dedication to sustainability. • This pizza saved our life because it works late hours. We've just landed from Airport, checked in to our housing, and group of 20 people walked to Black Hills. Their Carpichosa pizza was my favorite.

  • This pizzeria is so understated that if you’re not paying close attention you might risk skipping it entirely. The only reason I’ve found it is because I was walking casually around that area of Rocca di Papa (a very remote area in the Castelli Romani) and I saw the sign ‘Black Hills’ and reconnected with someone talking to me previously about a ‘must-try’ pizzeria named black hills. If I hadn’t seen that sign I would just have kept walking as this was standing out of an otherwise entirely normal looking residential construction, like a private residence! So I decide to take my parents there for dinner just a couple of hours later and that has been one of the best dining decisions to date. The pizza and the toppings are absolutely top notch. Calling it ‘pizza’ might seem reductive. The ‘sfoglia’ is so thin that it literally crumbles when you pick it up and dissolves in your mouth, making for a great taste and light experience. It’s not uncommon for people to actually eat two pizzas in a row here! Very different from the ‘pizza napoletana’ but no less tasty and worthy. Big pity for the location which is hard to reach at best if you’re not from around that area.
